Problem:

When victimisation Dragon Naturally Speaking with Microsoft Word XP (2002), 2003, 2007, or 2010, and/or Microsoft Outlook 2007, 2010; the subsequent problems with speech recognition might occur: Select-and-Say fails, words area unit written doubly or general poor recognition.

These problems could also be associated with the Microsoft workplace integral speech recognition code or the Dragon NaturallySpeaking add-in could also be disabled.

Solution:

We suggest enabling  the Dragon NaturallySpeaking add-in ("dgnword.dll") in Microsoft Word.

Note: If Microsoft workplace XP or 2003 is put in then the in-built speech recognition should 1st be disabled (Windows XP only). If it's not disabled, then it'll still disable Dragon Naturally Speaking d-in "dgnword.dll". Please follow the steps printed in school Note 3118: "Dragon/ViaVoice locks up, freezes or Select-and-Say fails in Microsoft workplace applications" to disable the Microsoft workplace speech recognition code
Please follow these steps to re-enable "dgnword.dll" for use with Microsoft Word XP and 2003:
  1. Launch Microsoft Word.
  2. Click on the "Help" menu and choose "About Microsoft Word".
  3. Click the "Disabled Items" button.
  4. Verify that dgnword.dll appears in the list.
  5. If dgnword.dll is in the list, highlight it and then click the "Enable" button.
  6. If dgnword.dll appears more than once, do this for every instance.
Please follow these steps to re-enable "dgnword.dll" for use with Microsoft Word 2007 and Microsoft Outlook 2007:
  1. Launch Microsoft Word or Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click the Office button.
  3. Choose "Word Options". or "Outlook Options".
  4. Click "Add-ins".
  5. If "NatSpeak Word AddIn" (dgnword.dll) does not appear in the "Add-ins" list then it has been disabled.
  6. Select "Disabled Items" from the "Manage" dropdown list, then click "Go".
  7. Highlight "dgnword.dll" in the "Disabled Items" list and click "Enable".
  8. Click "Close", and then click "OK".
Please follow these steps to re-enable "dgnword.dll" for use with Microsoft Word 2010 or Micrsoft Outlook 2010:
  1. Launch Microsoft Word or Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click the File Tab.
  3. Choose "Options".
  4. Click "Add-ins".
  5. If "NatSpeak Word AddIn" (dgnword.dll) does not appear in the "Add-ins" list then it has been disabled.
  6. Select "Disabled Items" from the "Manage" dropdown list, then click "Go".
  7. Highlight "dgnword.dll" in the "Disabled Items" list and click "Enable".
  8. Click "Close", and then click "OK".
